DISCOVERING COSTA DEL SOL: CABOPINO

Following our series of posts describing the best areas of Costa del Sol, this week we take on to Cabopino…hope you will enjoy!!

CABOPINO

Cabopino is located at the very edge of the Marbella area, on the border to Mijas Costa. The Cabopino area is mainly known for its quaint little harbour and village, known as “Puerto Cabopino”, with arguably the best stretch of beach on the Costa del Sol (watch out for the neighbouring nudist beach!) surrounded by sand dunes. Try one of the many beach bars and enjoy a drink or some of their just-caught fish that’s sizzling on the barbecue. During the summer months, there are regular boat trips along the coast, and dolphin watching excursions from Cabopino port…maybe you can even catch some of your own lunch!

Based around 35 minutes from Málaga airport, we recommend getting a great value Cabopino car hire if you are coming to this popular part of the Costa del Sol. Property in Cabopino is always in demand due to its close proximity to the airport and the main resorts of Marbella and Fuengirola.

The different types of property for sale in Cabopino range from apartments to villas and are located on the mountainside or on the beach around Cabopino port.

On summer evenings, you can enjoy traditional Spanish flamenco as the sun goes down in the Plaza just above the main Cabopino harbour. There are some great restaurants in the port that are very popular with expats and locals alike and, if that does not provide you with enough choice, there are many more restaurants in Marbella town centre to choose from and loads of great shops with everything you could wish to buy from from furniture packages to clothes from leading international brands and locally-produced goods.

Those who enjoy a little more exercise can choose from a 9-hole course for beginners at the Artola Hotel and two 18-hole courses – La Siesta in Calahonda, and Cabopino Golf.
